Published rates, with the conditions attached

Most Melbourne hire pages show “POA” or a contact form. We prefer to publish our from-rates, the conditions attached to them, and exactly what moves a final quote up or down.

* Indicative from-rates, ex GST, for approved commercial credit on a 36-month fully maintained term. Every price shown is a starting point, not a fixed offer — your written quote reflects site assessment, annual hours, configuration, delivery zone and credit assessment, and may be higher where risk factors apply.

Delivery and end-of-term collection are one-off freight charges — typically $150–$350 ex GST each way in metro Melbourne depending on zone and machine, confirmed in your written quote. Never buried in the weekly rate.

What’s in the weekly rate — and what isn’t

Included

  • The forklift, configured as specified (side shift, lights, OPSS)
  • Scheduled preventative servicing to the maintenance plan
  • Fair wear-and-tear repairs
  • Breakdown response coordinated with the dealer network
  • Compliance documentation: load charts, manuals, pre-start checklists, service records

Itemised separately

  • Delivery and end-of-term collection — one-off freight, typically $150–$350 ex GST each way in metro Melbourne by zone and machine (never free, never hidden in the weekly)
  • Damage, misuse and accident repairs
  • Tyres beyond fair wear
  • Hours above the annual allowance (typically 1,200 h/yr)
  • Operator licences and training (LF class — your operators)
  • Charger electrical installation, if your site needs a new outlet

We write both columns into the agreement, in plain English. That specificity protects you as much as us — “fully maintained” without a definition is where hire disputes come from.

How Melbourne market rates actually look

For context: publicly advertised weekly rates for comparable electric counterbalance forklifts in Melbourne (surveyed August 2026, all ex GST).

Capacity classAdvertised market range /weekOur from-rate
1.4 – 1.8 t electric$129 – $250$175 (EFL181)
2.0 t electric$205 – $240$225 (EL20-Pro FFL)
2.5 t electric$160 – $255$210 (EFX5-251) / $235 (EL25-Pro FFL)
3.5 t electricrarely advertised$229 (EFX5-351)

Market figures compiled from public Melbourne listings and hire pages. Advertised “from” prices often exclude servicing, delivery or apply to used/refurbished units and different terms — always compare the full written conditions, not the headline number. That’s the comparison we help you make.

Pricing questions

Why do you publish rates when most hire companies don’t?

Because “call for a quote” wastes your time. Our from-rates are real 36-month fully maintained rates, reviewed monthly, with the conditions stated up front. Your final quote can move with term, hours, configuration and credit — but you will always see why.

Does credit history affect the rate?

Yes. Published from-rates assume approved commercial credit. Where the credit assessment shows higher risk, we may quote a higher rate, ask for a larger upfront payment or director’s guarantee, or decline — a 36-month agreement is effectively an unsecured loan of a $25,000+ machine, and pricing has to reflect that.

What makes the weekly rate go up or down?

Five things: credit standing, and term length (longer terms get lower weeklies), annual hours (over 1,200 h/yr affects servicing and residual), configuration (attachments, mast options), and delivery zone. We itemise each one in the written quote.

Is delivery included?

Metro Melbourne delivery is itemised in the quote rather than hidden in the weekly rate — typical tilt-tray delivery within our service areas is quoted as a one-off. Regional Victoria is quoted case by case.

What happens at the end of the term?

You can return the machine, extend the term, or upgrade to a newer model. If your business changes mid-term, talk to us early — we would rather re-fit you into the right machine than hold you to the wrong one.
